We love feedback from our customers, so we were delighted to receive this from Craig Larn of Merseyisde. Another job well done at McNally HQ.
“I found my experience dealing with your Customer Care team very good indeed. The staff I dealt with, Lucy & Katie, were very helpful. I originally didn’t get one of the documents across for my application for the OLEV Grant, but this was dealt with straight away thanks to their expertise, making it a smooth process!
The engineer turned up at a time that was convenient for me, and conducted a good tidy install, in just 40 minutes! I’ve already made my family and friends aware of the service received my McNally EV, and if I came across anybody else looking to have an electric vehicle charge-point installed, I wouldn’t hesitate on recommending them.
They guided me through my paperwork step by step, and I know if I need anything again, they’ll be there!”
BMW targeted sales numbers of 100,000 electric vehicles for 2017, and the company have now confirmed they have reached this goal.
In 2016 they managed to sell just over 60,000, so 2017 shows an approximate 60% increase. Sales are expected to rise yet again in 2018, although admittedly not as steep a rise.
The BMW i3 spearheaded the sales, alongside the Active Tourer 2 Series. The automaker is planning to offer a dozen electric vehicles to their fleet by 2025.
The fact a pillar in the vehicle industry is expanding their electric vehicle operations at such a rapid pace, indicates that the electric vehicle sector is gaining incredible momentum as we enter 2018.
Islington council has introduced a surcharge for diesel vehicles during short stay parking, in an attempt to try discourage diesel drivers from entering the borough.
It’s reported the charge will be £2 per hour and will apply to all diesel fueled vehicles.
Islington’s executive member for environment and transport commented that “London is on the brink of an air quality emergency”, which has provoked the move.
Islington’s stance on diesel drivers could very well start a nationwide trend, which could force drivers to convert to electric vehicles sooner than expected, with the Government earmarking 2040 as the year all our vehicles will be electric.
Toyota has released plans to incorporate electric vehicles into their current fleet within the next 8 years, and have pledged that their whole fleet will be available with a hybrid or electric option by 2025.
Toyota do not currently offer a fully electric option as of yet, but have found success with Hybrid Prius, and other fuel cell vehicles.
It is thought that these electric vehicles will first be introduced to the Chinese market before then introduced to the Japanese, Indian, American and European car markets.
Nissan have today began production of the new Nissan Leaf model, in their huge Sunderland car plant. This will be news to customers who shall be expecting their new models in February.
The eagerly anticipated new model comes with new features such as e-Pedal, ProPILOT, and Intelligent Emergency Braking.
The Leaf has been in production since 2013 in the UK, and with a reported £36million investment in the Nissan Sunderland plant, there looks to be another 2000 jobs created in the Nissan Supply Chain.
